The day began with an <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">on-site visit<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Park &amp; Ride Klagenfurt West \/ Minimundus<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, where <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">the new charging stations will be installed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Participants <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">were welcomed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by <\/span>Dominik Schallauer<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.austriatech.at\/en\/\"><strong>AustriaTech<\/strong><\/a>), who introduced the ePowerMove project, followed by <\/span>Markus Letter<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.klagenfurt.at\/\"><strong>City of Klagenfurt<\/strong><\/a>), who provided insights into the location and its significance as a multimodal mobility hub. <\/span>Nejc \u0160ter<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (<a href=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR_IO2JdoKFraj77brs5rJwMpqgV1XWJ9v8vQ&amp;s\"><strong>Metron<\/strong><\/a>) shared initial design concepts for the charging stations, sparking discussion and interest among attendees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The workshop continued at the <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Smart Climate Lab in Klagenfurt<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, where <\/span>Lena Schwarz<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (AustriaTech) facilitated a participatory session focused on <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">user experiences and expectations<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Participants shared stories about their past charging habits and actively brainstormed ideas to ensure <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> new infrastructure meets real-world needs. Topics such as <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">car-sharing integration<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> and <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> were explored in depth, particularly relevant to the site\u2019s role in supporting shared mobility and energy efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-842  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.epowermove.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/DOS-5_c_AustriaTech_Lindner-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"714\" height=\"476\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For those unable to attend in person, a <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">follow-up online workshop<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (in German) will be held on <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">6 May<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, ensuring <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">wider<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> community participation and feedback.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The <\/span>co-design approach<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is central to ePowerMove\u2019s philosophy. By involving <\/span>diverse community clusters<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the <\/span>planning and design process <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">through site visits, focus groups, workshops, and participatory design sessions, the project seeks to <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">enhance user acceptability<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> and <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">empower individuals<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to shape their charging experience. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The aim is to ensure charging is <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">not just technically <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">efficient,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> but also<\/span> <strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">intuitive, accessible, and people-friendly<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Klagenfurt event is just the beginning. The project\u2019s other pilot sites are also gearing up for their <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">own<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> participatory activities. In <\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Helsinki<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vttresearch.com\/en\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">VTT<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is preparing a <\/span>design competition<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to explore innovative user-centric solutions for smart urban charging.
